Rolene Marks is a prominent freelance journalist, broadcaster, and passionate advocate for Israel. Based in Israel, she regularly contributes to international media, appearing on platforms such as i24News, Chai FM, and Channel News Asia, where she offers insights on Israeli politics, the Middle East, and combating media bias against Israel. She is also an active member of the Media Team Israel and plays a key role in public diplomacy as the Head of Hasbara (Public Diplomacy) for World WIZO, an organization that promotes Zionist values and social services.
Marks is also a co-founder of the online platform Lay of the Land, which focuses on Israeli current affairs, and is the host of The Israel Brief on YouTube. A key figure in global pro-Israel advocacy, she often addresses international audiences on topics related to antisemitism, media bias, and Israel's challenges on the global stage. Her activism is deeply influenced by her upbringing in South Africa during the Apartheid era, and she frequently draws on those experiences to challenge the false comparisons between Israel and Apartheid South Africa.
Marks is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Middlesex University, London, where her research focuses on the media, politics, and antisemitism. She continues to use her platform to educate and raise awareness on issues of Jewish and Israeli concern worldwide.
